Key Concepts & Terminology

Understand core terms used across the FairAds AI Partner Portal including slot loops, CPM, dayparting, and Proof of Performance (POP).

To get the most out of FairAds AI, familiarize yourself with key terminology and operational concepts.

Core Terminology

1. Ad Loop & Slot Frequency

An Ad Loop is the repeating sequence of content shown on a digital screen. A typical 120-second loop might contain:

  • 6 x 15-second Commercial Slots (90 seconds total)
  • 1 x 30-second Venue/Community Content Slot (30 seconds total)

The frequency indicates how many times an ad plays per hour (e.g., 30 plays/hour in a 2-minute loop).

2. CPM (Cost Per Mille)

eCPM Formula:

eCPM = (Total Earnings / Total Verified Impressions) * 1000

In DOOH, impressions are calculated based on audience traffic sensors, camera footfall analytics, or verified location mobility data during ad playback.

3. Dayparting

Dayparting refers to dividing the operating day into specific time blocks to adjust pricing or content relevance:

  • Morning Commute (07:00 AM – 10:00 AM)
  • Mid-day / Afternoon (10:00 AM – 04:00 PM)
  • Evening Peak (04:00 PM – 09:00 PM)
  • Night (09:00 PM – 12:00 AM)

4. Proof of Performance (POP)

Proof of Performance (POP) is the cryptographic and timestamped log generated by the FairAds Media Player whenever an ad creative is displayed. It includes:

  • Playback Timestamp (start and end time)
  • Ad Creative Hash ID
  • Screen ID & Device Health Metrics
  • Sensor Impression Count during playback duration

POP reports are automatically made available to advertisers and form the basis of your monthly revenue payouts.

5. Flighting & Flight Dates

A Flight is the scheduled runtime window for an ad campaign (e.g., Oct 1 to Oct 15). Slot availability and inventory bookings are managed according to flight dates.
